Outside there is an orchard, a garden with a south east facing terrasse and plenty of parking.The forest of St Sever is only one mile away. The local riding school is only 5 minutes away at Brouains and offers hacks through the forest.

This part of Normandy is known as 'The Bocage Area' and is renowned for its rolling hills and stunning countryside. It has a famous walk way and cycle path called the VOIE VERTE, 'The Green Way' which is a disused railway track that runs from Normandy into Brittany. You can join this walk way in Brouains and make your way to Sourdeval or Mortain or even Avranches or Vire.

Nearby towns are St Sever and Vire, both approx 12 mins drive. Vire is the larger of the two but is very attractive with fantastic shops and numerous restaurants. It is particularly lovely at Christmas and holds its weekly market every Friday. It has an indoor swimming pool and a Hippodrome where you can enjoy a days 'trotting' or flat racing.

St Sever holds its farmers market on Saturday, plus there is a large open-air swimming pool and several bars. Villedieu les Poeles a pretty village (17km) and is famous for its brass and copper. Lac De La Dathee is about 10 minutes’ drive where you can enjoy a game of golf on the championship 18-hole course or just enjoy a walk around it.

Watersports here are canoeing, pedalos, kayaks, sailing and windsurfing. Fishing is also very popular and a weekend permit can be bought for 10 euros. The River See is renowned for being one of the best Salmon and brown trout rivers in France.

Further afield is Le Mont St Michel which was named by the Guardian newspaper as one of the top 10 romantic places to go in the world. Granville is approx 60 minutes drive and is a cosmopolitan town with many chic boutiques and some delicious fish restaurants (my favourite being Le Restaurant Du Port). From Granville you can catch the ferry to Iles Chausey which is 11 miles (the flora and fauna is stunning here and it's also a delight to swim in one of it's quiet, clean coves.)

You can even take a day trip to Jersey from Granville. The D day Landing beaches are about 1 hour away (63km) and Deauville and Trouville anout 1 1/4 hours.(105km) For an evening meal, there are numerous restaurants in Vire and for that special occasion, Le Moulin De Jean in Cuves (15 mins drive) is an absolute must.

There is a stable and haystore/tackroom and potential to erect a row of stables as long as you wish. The land would be perfectly suited to horses.

There is also a pond which is fenced so safe for children/guests.

The property operates a modern fosse septic (2013) with space to add a further 4-bedroom gite.
